Kids Travel Kits

When ever we travel I always bring along some Kids Travel Kits to keep the kids occupied.  Why? Here is an example.  My husband and I have talked about taking our kids to Disney for years–I think we have talked about it since my oldest was born.  We held off  because we weren’t sure how it would be driving to Florida with the kids.  Would they fight?  Would it be cramped?  Would we all be bored out of our minds?   This year we finally took the plunge and made the trip, and truthfully we were worried about nothing–but I was prepared and brought along some kits, perfect for summertime travel.

For our trip I made sure to have a bag to keep everything in for each kid.  We used small backpacks and everything had to fit in the bag or it didn’t come, that way it was easy for each kid to keep track of all of their stuff and pack up their stuff each night when we stopped for the day.

Here are some suggestions of items to include in your Kids Travel Kits:

• Crayons
• Coloring Books
• Magnetic Doll  Sets
• Workbooks
• Stickers and Sticker books
• Comic Books
• Travel Games like UNO or a regular deck of cards
• ipods or ipads
• itunes gift cards (perfect for buying new music or downloading a new game)
• headphones for every device–trust me, you aren’t going to want to listen to the same repetitive song over and over.
• New movies if your car has a DVD Player in it
• Snacks–make sure to pack snacks that travel well and don’t need to be kept cool.
• Water bottles–we bought each kid a new water bottle in a color they chose so that they could keep track of which one was theirs and then we just refilled as necessary.
• a sweater or light blanket in case someone gets cold
• When it comes to putting together Kids Travel Kits it really is whatever you want to make of it.  You can use stuff that you have already the house already or buy completely new stuff to put in them or do a mixture.
